Cumberland is a quaint historical village with a rich and colourful past. Originally populated with coal miners in 1888, Cumberland quickly became the centre for trade and commerce in the Comox Valley and Vancouver Island. The last coal mine closed in 1966, however, many of the original buildings remain along main street.

"We left Calgary in May 2008 and came to Vancouver Island to seek a simplified lifestyle and a better climate. We found the perfect spot to live - Cumberland! We purchased a neglected house and turned it into a wonderful home for us and others to enjoy. We have extensive customer service  backgrounds and are committed to making your stay as comfortable as possible."
